"Wild in the Woods"

8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The Bear Run Nature Reserve is the site of Fallingwater, and is about 1 1/2 hours southeast of Pittsburgh.

The event offers the entire family the opportunity to enjoy a full day of fun, while connecting with the wild wonders of nature; learning more about the environment and how to help protect our natural resources; and enjoying a community festival atmosphere (hayrides, live music, local food vendors, games, and more). Here are just a few highlights of the day:

Keynote Speaker-You won't want to miss the keynote address featuring David Crockett at 11 a.m., following the Annual Business Meeting of WPC Members. We are happy to present the 4th generation Crockett of the renowned "King of the Wild Frontier"

Wild Animals
- See live animals and learn more about wildlife through demonstrations, lectures and interactive children's activities.

House of Environmental Horrors - Gear up for Halloween with this fun, all-ages-appropriate exhibit that presents a series of images showing the effects that pollution and other threats to the environment can have and how to make a difference.

Garden Demonstrations
- Bring that green thumb for garden demonstrations for the novice and experienced gardener.

Hikes - Join us for the early bird walk, family hike, or one of the several other featured hikes offered that day.

Live Music - Featuring Devilish Merry, playing a unique blend of Ameri-Celtic folk fusion.

Tours of Fallingwater - WPC Members attending the event can tour Fallingwater for free!

Dedication of Barn - Dedication and tours of the newly renovated historic barn, which will showcase the sustainable principles that guided our renovation, and new interpretive offerings.

Children's Activities - Bring the entire family and connect with nature together. The day promises a full day of fun and educational children and family activities.
