Profile of the Sideling Hill Creek Watershed Sideling Hill Creek winds through a remote rural area in the heart of Pennsylvanias ridge and valley region. And the citizens of the communities in the watershed desire to make sure that the creek remains a part of their lives for generations to come. WPCs Charles Bier has spent much time in the watershed gathering information that is used to help achieve this goal. Conservation starts with the invididual. There are a number of things that a single concerned person, such as Dave Schreffler, can do to improve the water quality in their immediate area finding people who share your goals, arriving at a consensus and putting your plan into action. Upstream, Downstream: Preserving Our Way of Life is a very special video story about the people of Sideling Hill Creek and their watershed. It was produced by Western Pennsylvania Conservancy in conjunction with the concerned citizens of the watershed. Click on the links to the right to hear Mary Stanley and Seri Kern talk about the movement to preserve the lifeways of their rural watershed, and to get a preview of some of the video. |
