Goose Flight

One of the most familiar sights of fall is the sight a long "V" of geese cleaving the sky on its migration route. It is believed that V-flyers gain both aerodynamic advantage and improved orientation. The high barking "honk" can be heard at night in the most crowded suburbs and even cities.

You can distinguish the flight of two species of geese that migrate through Pennsylvania even at great heights. Canada geese fly in the standard 'V" while snow geese tend to fly in a wide curving front or wave-shaped formation.
