The Turk's-Cap Lily A resident of French Creek Valley of northwestern Pa., the Turk's-cap lily is among the largest members of the lily family, reaching heights of nearly seven feet. Bright yellow and orange with reddish-brown spots, the Turk's cap is a standout. A single plant can produce up to 40 blooms. It can be found growing in moist floodplains, along roadsides, damp meadows and on the borders of bogs, and likes full sun with ample moisture and good drainage. Native Americans used its bulbs to make soup. It's no wonder that its scientifuc name is Lilium superbum. Learn
