Welcome Garden Enhances Grand Entrance to Pittsburgh The Fort Pitt Tunnel makes Pittsburgh one of the few cities in the world with a grand entrance. Thanks to the efforts of more than 100 volunteers, this year nearly 30,000 flowers, including blue salvia, yellow canna, and pink tidal wave petunias, will provide a splash of color for the more than 140,000 motorists who travel through the busy tunnel every day. There are more than 200 WPC community gardens and success stories like this to be found throughout 19 western Pennsylvania counties. Click here to see a listing of the garden planting schedule and discover how you can join WPC neighborhood volunteers in your community. We
are always in need of community garden volunteers. Contact Marianne
Cola at 412-586-2324 if you, or someone you know, is interested in
volunteering to help plant or steward a garden. E-mail Today's WPC Daily to a Friend! Did you receive this WPC Daily from a friend? Want to get your own, every day? Click here to get WPC Daily. |
