Songbirds of Erie Presque
Isle State Park in Erie, Pennsylvania, is one of the best places in the
state to observe migrating songbirds. Thirty-six species of warblers have
been recorded, along with orioles, tanagers, thrushes, vireos, flycatchers
and sparrows.
This unique state park has also been the site of ongoing bird-banding
studies, carried out by members of the Presque Isle Audobon Society. Pictured today is a scarlet tanager (at right, courtesy of the National Zoo). E-mail Today's WPC Daily to a Friend!
Our Fallingwater Museum Shop has an exclusive hand-blown glass depiction of the scarlet tanager Become a Western Pennsylvania Conservancy Member |
