Using Our State Beverage to Keep Our State Mammal Away Some farmers say that milk, our state beverage, can be effective as a repellent to the white-tailed deer, our state mammal. Put an inch of milk in a gallon container, add water to the top and spray on your garden plants. WPC has been working with area farmers concerned about their watershed and protecting the quality of water for those living downstream.
