Continual Growth Spurts Trees differ from many other living things in that they grow as long as they live. Pictured right is Cook Forest, which is part of a 7,182-acre State Park in Forest and Clarion Counties, and is famous for its stands of old growth forest. Cook Forest's 'Forest Cathedral' of towering white pines and hemlocks is a National Natural Landmark. The Clarion River meanders around the southern border of the park and is popular for canoeing and rafting. For several decades, protection of the Clarion River has been a priority for WPC, including purchasing land, including additions to Cook Forest State Park.
