Green Thumb Tuesday: Holiday Decorating With Plants

Many holiday decorations can be made with fresh greenery. Traditional decorations, such as garlands, swags and wreaths are made with evergreens (white pine, juniper, cedar, spruce, ivy, holly and boxwood). These live greens are readily available commercially, but may also be found in your own backyard. In addition, consider using other plant parts such as berries, dried flowers, cones and seedpods to give color and a texture interest.

This year, WPC's Landscape Specialist Arthur DeMeo decorated the entrance doors of our Pittsburgh office with a beautiful decorative swag made with cedar and white pine. As you can see in today's WPC Daily, Art included assorted dried flowers and seedpods of various shades of red. Placing these simple elements together makes an excellent holiday display!
