Although using the same materials, colors, and design motifs as Fallingwaters main house, the guest house, completed in 1939, is a simpler building and recalls the basic form of Frank Lloyd Wrights Usonian homes. The swimming pool provides cool, flowing water so prominent at the main house in a more accessible, intimate manner. The water source for the pool, as for all of Fallingwater, is Bear Run itself, which is fed by numerous springs in the hillsides. Today's photo was taken on October 13th by Fallingwater's Curator of Buildings and Collections Cara Armstrong. E-mail Today's WPC Daily to a Friend!
