An Easy Water-Saving Measure

If you let your water run waiting for hot water to come down the pipes, try catching the flow in a watering can to use later for plants or gardens. Doing this can save between 100 to 300 gallons of water a month!

The photo above, taken by WPC's Farah Mosley, depicts green Ipomoea "Marguerite" sweet potato vine surrounding purple Coleus "Victorian Ruffle" found in some of WPC's 400 community gardens. The garden program now reaches 20 western Pa. counties and represents the work of more than 5,000 volunteers each spring.
