July 17, 2004

One of my absolute favorite days was the day Tami Campbell drove Caitlin, Robert and I to flag and mark the Wattsburg Fen Natural Area tract. She literally dropped us off in the middle of the woods with only a survey map, a topo map, and a compass. Oh, yes, and we had a GPS unit which only worked for half the day. I felt as if I was in the movie The Blair Witch Project: trekking through the tall grass and moving branches and felled trees. It was such a rewarding feeling when the three of us found that first marker. Walking across streams and through marshlands. Anyway, our adventures of that day add up to one exciting day that represents the challenges and triumphs of the entire time in Pennsylvania. Thank you for making my stay in Pennsylvania the best project experience in AmeriCorps. Words can't describe the experiences and memories I'll take with me. Thanks!!
