Take a boat cruise and wildflower tour through three state parks
Tuesday, August 10, 9 am - 5:30 pm
Here's a one day opportunity to have the expertise of naturalist Bob Faber as you travel by land and sea through the unique wildlife, history and blazing wildflowers of three beautiful state parks. The tour begins with a wildlife boat cruise on scenic Lake Arthur in Moraine State Park, where the beautiful scenery and fresh air accompany Bob Faber's naturalist narrative of the surrounding wildlife. And you may even glimpse the ospreys searching the lake for fish. After a box lunch on the Butterfly Trail, the tour continues to Jennings Environmental Education Center to see the breathtaking display of wildflowers in bloom, including the uncommon dense blazing-star. Following the wildflower excursion, the tour ventures to McConnell's Mill State Park for a light hike to see the scenic Slippery Rock Creek Gorge. Don't miss this spectacular day of boating, strolling through fields of wildflowers and visiting a spectacular gorge.
