Destination Thursday: Paddling the Rivers of Pittsburgh

Right under the Roberto Clemente Bridge (formerly the Sixth Street Bridge), and just a few yards from the left field wall of PNC Park, you can rent kayaks and explore the three rivers (Allegheny, Monongahela and the Ohio) that meet in Pittsburgh.

Venture Outdoors is coordinating the summer activity, providing kayaks and canoes for rental on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. Scheduled outings include a Sea Kayak Eco-Tour every Tuesday evening 5:45 - 8:30 p.m., where an experienced kayak instructor guides groups along the Allegheny to discover the natural surroundings and fascinating history of this revitalized river. This trip includes kayaks and is suitable for beginners. For more information call 412-255-0564.
