Community Input in Watershed Conservation Planning
River Conservation Plans are developed to conserve and enhance river resources through the preparation and implementation of locally initiated plans. The purpose of these plans is to identify significant natural, recreational and cultural resources in an area. Issues and concerns of river resources, as well as recommended approaches, are determined locally as a part of the planning process.
WPC worked with the Crooked Creek Watershed Association to complete a plan for the Lower Crooked Creek watershed. The final public meeting for the project is scheduled for Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at the Crooked Creek Lake Park. For more information on the plan or to RSVP for the meeting, please contact the Watershed Assistance Center at 724-459-0953, ext. 107 or cruddock@paconserve.org.
