Green Thumb Tuesday: Color Splashes for Summer BloomDuring May, Western Pennsylvania Conservancy works with 5,000 volunteers to place 350,000 flowering plants in the community gardens located in more than 170 communities. Some of the flowers that deliver the best "color show" even in the demanding situation of roadside or community center locations include the following:
With minimal care, these plants can withstand full sun and even some periods of drought. A weekly watering can usually keep them at peak condition, and they will produce copious color until first frost.
