WPC Daily Extra
| If you would like to help our Land Protection Department... WPC Land Protection Department has a unique volunteer position available that would include working with a database constructed in Microsoft Access. This database includes current and historic information on property we have acquired and conveyed through our 70-year history. The volunteer would be expected to enter data into the database following documented procedures so the ability to use a computer, typing experience, knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel, Access) and accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Some research through historic records may be required as well. The land database allows Western Pennsylvania Conservancy to track our land history, keep up-to-date records on all of our current holdings and monitor stewardship activities. Current land data is essential to a successful land protection program. Training will be provided by Western Pennsylvania Conservancy staff, and the volunteer will have desk space at Western Pennsylvania Conservancy's headquarters in downtown Pittsburgh. The volunteer should be available one day per week during office hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). If you are interested in this position please contact Ann Sand at 412-586-2374 or asand@paconserve.org.
