Cambria County Children's Water Festival puts the pH in Fun

This past March Cambria County held it's first children's water festival. Held at the Cambria County Vo-Tech, this festival was sponsored by the Cambria County Conservation District.

WPC Watershed Assistance Center staff members Jennifer Bennett, Watershed Technician II, and Carla Ruddock, Watershed Planning Coordinator, presented “Living in Your Watershed” to area sixth graders. Students were given a piece of a watershed to “develop” any way they chose. The pieces were then put together to illustrate how the development of their piece of land affected the watershed as a whole.

Christy Meredith, Watershed Resource Specialist, also made a splash at the festival with a “Fun with pH" display in the exhibit hall.
