WPC’s popular community gardens have become a signature image of the western Pennsylvania landscape.
Each spring, WPC volunteers make a visible difference by planting140 colorful community gardens in neighborhoods all over the region. The community gardens are the result of ongoing partnerships between WPC and community residents, businesses and schools in 19 western Pennsylvania counties.
Appearing in diverse locations and in varied configurations, the gardens enhance our region's civic an cultural assets and help to improve overall quality of life.
Each year, more than 250,000 flowers are planted by volunteers — enough to make a flowerbed stretching from Pittsburgh to the West Virginia border.
